Orzone AB today announced its registration as an Apple Developer and has joined the iOS Developer Program. The purpose and aim of the registration and commitment to the iOS Developer program is to increase the access to learning resources by improving the support for mobile computing devices. The first step is to release a new innovative product for residency tracking; an iPad application for Ortrac.
About Ortrac
Ortrac (e-platform) is a web application for harmonization of postgraduate training, accreditation and revalidation. The application is developed through a joint venture with UEMS (European Union of Medical Specialists) and Orzone. The aim with the platform is to offer UEMS associated bodies, i.e National Societies and National Authorities, appropriate tools for integration of harmonized curricula into daily practice.
Ortrac essentially supports the following core processes:
- Record trainee progress towards becoming a medical specialist.
- Create and maintain formative and summative assessments globally.
- Capture real world clinical as well as training experience through a set of log books.
- Make published or non-published papers and presentations available to your work group.
- Instructor/Tutor tools to evaluate student progression
To become a user of Ortrac you must be a qualified healthcare professional, either in training or a qualified Specialist. Please request a personal account through your local Society, National Authority or your UEMS representative.
Global assessments
The European Union for Medical Specialists (UEMS), UEMS-Special Medical sections and Orzone earlier this year collaboratively enabled candidates from 14 countries in Europe, Asia and the Middle East to complete online simultaneous pilot examinations, based on the European Core Curriculum developed for each participating medical specialty. The technical web based platform Ortrac was used and was secured from the Orzone headquarters in Goteborg, Sweden. The purpose of the this project is aligned with the mission of Orzone; to establish a scientific accuracy throughout the whole of Europe and in the nearby future implement the testing method for all trainees enrolled on the European Core Curriculum.
