Orcamp
Orcamp is a unique comprehensive training environment which can be used for harmonizing assessment of knowledge, skills and behaviours. The framework supports standard hospital processes through computer based tools for training and planning.
As many studies have shown, errors occur more often out of non-technical aspects of performance rather than a lack of technical expertise, where as communication was found to be a causal factor in 43% of errors made in surgery1. 27% of claims against health care organisations resulted from cognitive and diagnostic errors in the operating room2.
We believe that good medical practice in the 21st century must embed technical excellence within a matrix of authentic professional behaviour. This may be achieved by continuous training and assessment of knowledge, skills and professionalism.
Cognitive skills are built up through training and exposure to real-life situations. Orcamp offers a unique opportunity for the educator as well as the examiner to improve and evaluate the skills of their trainees in a realistic environment without interfering with real patients.
